What's with Blogging?
Practice Entry
In today's technological era, blogs have become a relevant source of information with many individuals and businesses participating in the conversational activity. They are used to share information or opinions to an online audience. Typically, you will see two types of blogs, personal and professional. The two have similar qualities but with personal blogs, there is a more sensible feel of emotion from the word diction whereas professional blogs are almost emotionless with an objective in mind. In order to compare them appropriately, I have read and evaluated blogs from the Harvard Business Connect and People.
3 Reasons Why Every Department Needs Its Own Strategy is a corporate strategy blog from the Harvard Business Connect. In this blog, author Andrea Belk Olson explains how establishing strategies within departments will help bring a new level of success that reflects a business's vision. What I really liked about this blog is how descriptive the information was. It gave you a reasoning and then further elaborated on it. The blog has a clean and organized format with information separated into chunks instead of one big paragraph. There isn't anything I didn't like about it other than the topic itself as it falls out of my interest.
Moving onto the next blog, I elected to review one about the very popular relationship between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift from People. People is a team of editors bringing stories to entertain its readers about celebrities. Author Natsha Dye presents a photo of Talor Swift and Travis Kelce celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs big AFC championship win over the Baltimore Ravens with a kiss. In this blog the author really wants you to feel some emotion towards their relationship. They also include Kelce's family being there for the moment as well as moments from the game, but it is very brief and not mentioned until towards the end. Once again there isn't anything I really dislike about it other than my interest in the topic.
The amount of knowledge receivable from blogs is extensive. They are essential for modern society. It keeps us updated about what's going on in the world. Not all blogs are made for everybody, but with the different types of blogs available, there is one surely for everyone.
